(Multiple Friends): ‘Hey, Laura, you should open a bakery!’
And that was pretty much it. What began as an obsessive hobby for Laura Oldham is now A Dollop of Dixie: a bakery devoted to bringing traditional Southern baked goods to New Yorkers and THE WORLD.
We here at Dollop of Dixie have immense sympathy for those who grew up without Caramel Cake, Lemon Chess Pie, and (saddest of all) Cheese Straws. Armed with a red hot oven and a burning whisk, Laura uses her grandmother’s and great-aunt’s recipes to bestow her soul satisfying treats to y’all!
We invite you to peruse the site and find the adorable Southerner (and happy Fat Kid) within. Check out Laura’s video blog for recipes and general shenanigans or feel free to send us an order. We love orders, y’all.
Speaking of orders:
- Please allow 48 hours from time of order for delivery. It’d be much appreciated.
- Also! We don’t use preservatives or any less-than-fresh ingredients. That’s just nasty, y’all. We do, however, bake in a facility with nuts…sorry ’bout it.
- But wait, there’s more! We take requests! If you’ve got something you’re hankering for that’s not featured on our ‘orders’ page, let us make it for you. We can/will do just about anything to make your mouth happy
(…get your head outta the gutter).
It’s lovely seein’ you here!
